Birthday Ceremony at Montessori

At Montessori, birthdays are always celebrated by a little ceremony with their class mates. The birthday child takes the globe and walks around the "sun" (burning candle), and months of the year 4 times (or the number of years old the child is). They share a photo of themselves from each year to show how much they have changed or grown since birth. They also share cake with their class mates.
