On Friday 11 September, Aria & Harrison were discharged from Middlemore Hospital and transferred by Ambulance with Mum to Pukekohe Maternity Hospital to "room in" with their Mum until they can "suck" feed around the clock and put on a little bit of weight. What an exciting day, after about 11 weeks in this place, it sure was a strange feeling.
The first night with Harrison & Aria was sleepless - the room was hot, and I was constantly listening out for little noises and not wanting to miss their 3 hourly feeds. It was a bit of a shock to the system waking for two babies - two babies to feed, two nappies to change, two babies to feed, two temperatures to take and expressing is still necessary every few hours as I've still got far too much milk than they currently take. It wouldn't be so bad if Harrison wasn't so sleepy!!!.... but probably his mother's fault for just about cooking him by trying to have the room nice and warm! Luckily they are both pretty settled babies and don't cry much (at this stage!) :-)
