Camper-van Holiday July 2013 - Day 1

Last Friday we headed off on a 6 day camper-van holiday.  We were all pretty excited, especially the kids.  It's something we've wanted to do for a long time, but wanted to wait until the kids are old enough for.

We had a fun time.  We travelled in tandom with Caleb and Carolyn Townsend and their 3 girls, similar ages to ours.  We expected it to be 'cozy' to say the least, but luckily there was no rain for the time we were away.... it was a bonus having a loo on board!... and having all your gear with you - food included and a gas cooker - which meant we didn't need to spend too many dollars eating out at restaurants and cafes!

Our first stop was at Candyland just out of Taupiri, or near Gordonton.

We went to the Candy show where we did some taste-testing and made our own lollipops.  There was great excitement when we walked into the shop and saw the huge assortment of different lollies and chocolate!

What a great idea! I remember camping trips were always a blast when we were kids. However, we didn't know how much work went into it...well worth it tho!

So much fun! We love having a camper along - bathrooms, food, sleeping all right close! :) Love that you all were able to play in some snow! :)
