Weekend to Waiheke 22 Feb

Last weekend we thought we'd make the most of this beautiful weather and enjoy some more time at the beach.  I love this place!  One place where you can forget about the never-ending things that need to be done around home and just soak up the sunshine and relax!

We're getting this packing business down to a fine art!!  Must say it is a whole lot easier less a huge double buggy, porter cots and all the paraphenalia that goes with little kids!

When we arrived we realised that there was no little tent to put up for the older girls, so what to do?!Then we remembered that the back seats in our van fold down to make a double bed.   The kids thought it was pretty good turning our vehicle into a "camper" van! :-)

We found this huge bug on the outside of the cabin the next morning!

Nearly as long as Thomas!

Our traditional "shake-it" pancakes for breakfast - alfresco!

A few pics of Harrison on this beautiful evening...

A trip to Waiheke is becoming not complete without a trip to this old fashioned type sweet shop.   There is every kind of sweet imagienable.  You take around a bowl with you and fill with whatever takes your fancy... and then pay at the end. :-)

We enjoyed this beautiful sunset while we waited for our ferry to return us home on Sunday night.

Hello! :) I haven't stopped by for far too long, and you stopping by my blog yesterday prompted me to. I've enjoyed catching up on all you've been up to this summer. Looks like you've had a fun and busy summer. Hasn't it been the most amazing summer?! You've got some stunning photos in this post. Especially love the photos of Harrison and also the sunset. Looks and sounds like an idyllic spot. Just the thing to get away from it all. xx

I have to admire your organization skills - your van is packed in such an orderly fashion! You should see our vehicle when we go to the mountains-a big mess! It does look like a beautiful and relaxing place to go. Glad you can get away every now and again!
